Opportunities in the Public & Not for Profit Sector…
The Public and Not for Profit sectors in Scotland provide employment to 21% of the working population, with key organisations spanning including local and central government, healthcare, further and higher education, tourism, charities, housing and social enterprise. The NHS is Scotland’s largest employer, continuing to grow year-on-year.
The sector contributes significantly to the Scottish and wider economy, with further and higher education providers heralded globally, positioning Scotland as a centre of excellence for research and learning. Institutional research and the creation of start-up companies also provide benefits to the wider community and the private sector with a focus on innovation and the development of partnership agreements.
With budget cuts the continuing trend, innovation through the use of technology will help continue to deliver service whilst managing a reducing cost base.
